Dr. Emek Blair Ph.D., earned his undergraduate degree at Occidental College and performed his graduate work in Bio-Analytical Chemistry at the University of California, Irvine, where he received three major awards for his work on enzymes and lipids, designed  and created  the revolutionary Vasayo line of nutritional Health Supplements.  

In the early 2000, Dr. Blair discovered a natural method to form liposomes. Because this method is derived from nature, the process is unique and does not require high pressures, high temperatures, or toxic synthetic chemicals. This delivery system allows your body to absorb the nutrients–where with most vitamin supplements on the market – your body will release most of it into the toilet bowl. What is a Liposome?

A Liposome is a tiny bubble (Vesicle), made out of the same material as a cell membrane. Liposomes can be filled with drugs to treat cancer and other diseases and the membranes are usually made of phospholipids, which are molecules that have a head group and a tail group. A Liposome is a spherical vesicle having at least one lipid bilayer. The Liposome can be used as a vehicle for the administration of nutrients and pharmaceutical drugs. Liposomes can be prepared by disrupting biological membranes such as by sonication and all VASAYO Products are created using Liposomes.​

The Basic Concept

One gram of Vitamin C is absorbed at less than 15%. The other part of it gives you a bad stomach ache. That upset stomach is your body telling you it’s trying to reject it. Your body doesn’t want it in there. It’s kicking it out. We spend money on vitamins, herbs, and nutrition that simply go in one end and out the other.

When you swallow a capsule it goes into your stomach and then your intestines.  The acids in your stomach will cause the capsule to rapidly disintegrate and release it’s contents, which is typically not a great set-up for ideal absorption. However, with Liposomal technology, the active ingredients are formed into structures called Liposomes, which consists of bi-layers of molecules that help protect and transport the active ingredients so that they are more efficiently and ideally absorbed. Once those Liposomes are absorbed from your GI tract into your bloodstream, they are able to penetrate more rapidly into the target tissues of your body where they are needed. The Liposomes disintegrate in your stomach and intestine and result in improved bioavalibility of the active ingredients.

In essence, we have mimicked how a newborn baby naturally absorbs nutrition through a mother’s breastmilk.  A newborn baby does not have a fully developed digestive system, and yet grows at an incredible rate.  So in a nutshell, we’re enveloping these nutrients within a Liposome, mimicking nature, and delivering them to be absorbed at a higher rate in the bloodstream.
